Any owner of the at one time much anticipated Xbox 360 will understand the term if you tell them. What is it? This is the formidable, dreaded red ring of death. Yes, can you hear the screams of horror in the background? For those of you who havent experienced this horror personally let me explain. The red ring of death as it is not as fondly known as refers to the three flashing lights on the front of the Xbox console. This circle of red lights repeats on and off telling the owner that they have a problem with their console. When you see this happening fear should clinch your heart and your blood should run cold because you have big problems in the near and foreseeable future.

Since the launch of the console in 2005 the Xbox 360 has taken a significant amount of heat and tongue lashing in the media, from customers and critics alike. Compared to other systems put out by the competitor Xbox 360 has fallen evidently short. Consumers have complained that the system is horrible and a manufacturing joke.

Lets look over the causes for the red ring of death and the solution:

One of the most commonly discussed problems on forums across the internet is overheating. This problem is not something that you can fix yourself. If your console constantly overheats you will have to send it for repairs (which isnt a big deal if you still have the warranty) Microsoft has said on their website if you keep the Xbox 360 in a highly ventilated area this may prevent the risk of constantly overheating. The General Processing Unit of the Xbox 360 is also related with the overheating problems.

Also the system shouldnt be moved while it is on. If you make the mistake of moving your system while its on you may chance the disk scratching and the system may freeze up. If you keep it in a horizontal position and keep it in one area while its in operational mode it may help or cause a surcease to your system freezing.

A website that rates product warranties named SquareTrade, put out a report that claimed the 360 has a 16.4 % failure rate. This is higher than any of the Xboxs competitors score which rated in the low three to five percent.

Also according to this report the Red Ring of Death is responsible for sixty percent of all defective 360s. Reportedly the other forty percent of the malfunctions are due to hardware failure.

Right now it looks like the only solution on the market is the Save My Xbox guide. With this step-by-step Xbox Red Ring Of Death repair guide you can fix your Xbox easily even if you are a total technical analphabet.

by Michael Jeyro

With the average box for a new videogame ranging from fifty to sixty dollars, there is no reason to consider their acquisition as anything other than a moderate financial investment.

There is no reason whatsoever for a piece of software to last anything other than a lifetime (or at least a Xbox's lifetime) yet it is very often that a tiny scratch, the product of overeager handling, improper packaging or a simple but unavoidable accident renders an entire gaming dvd completely useless. Creating X360 backup games is a strategy of ensuring your software lasts as long as you need it to.

If you own the particular software, making a backup is one hundred percent legal as long as it is for personal use and not for distributional purposes. Unlike earlier iterations, you don't even need a mod chip to play your completelylegal backups on your Xbox these days. Current program is tailored to your system's specific dvd drive allowing it to read the DVD-R backups you make. That is, of course, a 1:1 backup of the original disc created with the intention of keeping the originals safe by using the copies instead.

Given that we are in the middle of an economic crisis with a potential depression threatening us and that the price of games has been on the rise for years with no sign of dropping any time soon it is more important than ever to protect your investment.

Given it is entirely legal, that game discs are notoriously prone to suffering major damage from the most tinyest of scratches and that creating Xbox 360 copies today is as simple as using a downloadable piece of software there is literally no reason not to do it.
