How do i free up space on my xbox 360 hard-drive?

I heard that when you delete things that they are removed but not completely and put into like a backup storage kind of thing and if so it's becoming a nuisance because i want some more space on my hard-drive, can anyone help me make some more space. I have deleted most of my video's and downloaded demo's. Any tips?
what's formatting? and doesn't that wipe all of your data?

thats only a rumor that is not true picture your hardrive as a paper written in pencil once you delete on your hardrive the eraser basically goes over your paper and just like pencil markings its gone forever

What Does Xbox 360 3 Flashing Red Lights Mean

The gaming industry have truly brought about some really awesome technology in the last decade or two in both the software and game console parts of the industry. No matter how spectacular, games and their counterparts didn't come without problems due in part from design. For example the Xbox 360.
