Japanese Ps3 promblem playing SpiderMan 3?

I Traded my xbox 360 for a ps3 today and the guy included two games.

One is spiderman 3 and the other was Mobile suit Gundam Target Sight some japanese game.

When i go to play spiderman3 after hitting play at the ps3 home the screen goes blue and all i hear is the sound. I can still use the controller but cant see what im doing. How do i get it to work. the other game worked perfectly fine. He said he bought the console in the philippines.

Another question instead of pressing x for enter its o and to cancel its x how do i change that.

I really dont care about spiderman3 but i was going to buy call of duty 4 and want to make sure it will work on my ps3. Cant jap ps3's play american games.

I just bought cod4 and it doesnt work.

I go to play disc the screen starts to go then a white line flashes at the top of the tv and the screen goes to the blue screen where it says video 1.

yes ps3 games aren't region coded meaning you can play any game on it as long as its a ps3 game.... blu-ray movies are region coded though....

about the O and X buttons..... you can't change that.... its really how it is when its a japanese ps3....

what puzzles me about your description is you say that you press the play at the PS home? PS home hasn't even been released yet.... but i guess you mean the PS menu.....

oh yeah one more thing..... you need to update your firmware every now and then so if your ps3 is connected online just go to settings then system update then select update via internet....

and follow the instructions.... the ps3 needs to be updated every so often like an ipod... this update will give you lots of extra features and sometimes make it run better.....

i don't know how to fix your spiderman prob though....
