xbox 360 game---when it first came out?
hello all 
i am thinking of buying an xbox 360 for my family this christmas...i remember when it first came out...maybe a little time after...the gamespot store had the floor display with the demo games on it....and there was this one incredible game that i don't have a clus as to what it was called...all i remember is the beginning started off where you where kinda floating in the clouds...then landed on what seemed like a floating piece of land...very colorful...i believe it was an adventure game...i've searched and searched the games on ign.... i'm lost....i know this isn't much info...but can anyone give me any suggestions....ideas.... thanks

The Nintendo Wii and Forty Years of Gaming
Video games can be highly addictive for many reasons. Online gameplay refers to video games that are played over some form of computer network, most commonly the Internet. Online games can range from basic one on one games to games incorporating complex graphics and virtual worlds populated by many players at the same time. Many online games have their own online communities, making online games a form of social activity beyond single player games. Without doubt, online gaming has become a permanent feature of the Internet that is here to stay. In the beginning, the online gaming audience consisted solely of die-hard players who had to deal with complicated installation processes and expensive setup fees. Without looking into the positive side of online gaming, the increasing percentage could be alarming and fearful, for it presents a picture that children will be spending more time in front of a computer, limiting the amount of daily real life interaction that these children experience.
The very first console video game system that could be played on a television set in the home was the Magnavox Odyssey. It was designed by Ralph Baer and it was first released to the public in 1972 and only met with limited success. In 1975 the home video entertainment really kicked off with the release of Pong by Atari. Atari landed an exclusive contract for 175,000 units with Sears who would market it and sell it within their stores. The game was a massive success for the 1975 Christmas sales. The interesting thing about this game was that all the discrete wiring was designed into a single chip which was the most advanced consumer electronics chip ever made until up to that point. This opened up a whole new world and the home video entertainment system was born.
The Nintendo Wii is fast becoming one of the most popular modern gaming consoles. This would be suitable for most gamers if they are not looking for the best graphics capabilities. The main features of the Wii are its motion-sensing, remote , pseudo-reality controls, and internet abilities. The whole family can enjoy playing with a Wii, and it is very popular with the old generation as well as the young. It may be wise to buy a second controller for your family once you have all spent hours playing golf, bowling, and even boxing. Many people do not even buy any other games than the ones which come bundled with the Wii. Some people only use Wii Sports that comes free with the Wii package. Playing on the Nintendo Wii may require you to bend your knees to get into the action, so as long as your are mobile, it won’t be a problem. You may even lose a few pounds if that is your intention.
One of the best elements about modern gaming is being able to play online. The world of online gaming is basically all about community. Gaming is so popular now that it could now be considered practically mandatory. Being great and skilled at playing these video games gives individuals several social benefits. Online gaming communities have proven to be powerful, profitable, but at the same time, very fragile. Based on studies and research conducted, gaming has become increasingly popular within the entertainment market. It has surpassed the achievements of full-length feature films, revenue-wise. Gaming is truly a social activity and is responsible for many new friendships and relationships, especially as far as online gaming is concerned.
