Halo Combat Evolved Xbox

Halo Combat Evolved or Halo 2? (Xbox)?

Background:
I purchased an xbox off my friend about a year back (original old big black xbox) and I played games like KotoR and Splinter Cell. I remember being really into halo at friend's houses back in the day. When I got the xbox I borrowed halo 2 and I just couldn't get into it.

I like collecting video games. (Proof being I have ALL console metal gears, i.e. 3 copies of MGS 3, etc.)

What is better from both a collecting stand point and playing standpoint, Halo Combat Evolved or Halo 2?

(Side note: whats the difference between Halo 2 and Halo 2 Limited Edition?)

Other notes:
I have the Halo 2 map pack on my xbox hard drive (my friend had purchased it)
I will obviously not being using Xbox Live
I have 2 controllers
I couldn't care less about Halo 3 or any xbox360 game.

Halo 2 is more fun, but Halo 1 is good too. I would recomend trying the pc demo for halo 1, it reflects a lot of the gameplay. Halo 2 is more fun though.
