The Next Generatiom
The PS3, Xbox and Wii are the generation of choice . Thats obvious. Each console has a defining ability that makes each console as advanced as it it. The PS3 has Blu-Ray and 1080p, the Wii has the whole “revolutionary motion-sensitive” feature and the Xbox has the online community of choice.
With these features, do we need a next generation? Yes, we do, but not for a good few years. At least four years for the next Xbox, five for the Wii and eight for the PS3. A great length of time for each in my opinion.
So, surely we’ve topped our limit when it comes to revolutionary console? What more can we add? Not a lot, in all honesty, but mainly because its to early. The PS3 began development in 2000, a year after the PS2 was released, and when the PS2 was the console to own. Back then, did Sony have words like Blu-Ray and Playstation Home wrote down? No, definitely not. And thats not a guess its a fact. David Reeves said it himself.
So what will the next console have? Probably 320,000p resolution, the ability to cure cancer and a toaster that know exactly when the bread is golden-brown. Who knows! If I wrote an article about the PS3 in 2002, and I said Blu-Ray, what would be your reaction? It would have sounded idiotic.
With the next generation of consoles, may come a next generation of games. GTA and Gran Turismo might well be second choice titles, with Uncharted and Motorstorm leading the pack. Throw in a new disc format, or get rid of the disc format, and add 1TB of memory, and you have yourself a next generation console.
The whole idea of this was to let your imagination reign, and pick what you want the next generation to include, whether it be a toaster, or a new media format. Get your thinking hat on people!
