do you "HAVE" to use voice control? will the game still be as good with just using the pad?

No, not at all. It might be a little easier to use it, but you don't have to. If you're going to buy it, note that not a lot of people play it online (not while I'm on anyways) add me so I can play with someone beside the computer. My tag is War005.

Gears of War 2 - A Xbox 360 Game
Shooting games are probably the most popular games online or on computers. Powered with most advanced graphics, sound effects and virtual joysticks, like guns, the overall experience is turned into a realistic flair. Generally, almost all the makers of shooting games include great animations and a story line to hold players in their seats. Stories always keep interest, especially related to mission.
Gears of War 2 are yet another continuation of the first release, Gears of War. Developed exclusively for the Xbox 360 by Epic Games, Gears of War 2 picks up the story six months after the end of the first game. The Locust are so powerful that they can sink entire cities from below, whereas the humans are becoming even more desperate thanks to the spread of a disease called rust lung.
Players are thrown back into the role of Marcus Fenix, leading the battle for humankind's survival against the Locust Horde. With innovative third-person tactical action gameplay and unsurpassed high-definition graphics, Gears of War 2 rounds out an all-around superior action package.
In terms of gameplay, Gears of War 2 is fundamentally the same as the original game, but fans of the series should be able to spot some key refinements. The cover system has been honed so that the players can cling more accurately to surfaces, and the weapons have received subtle alterations to make them even more balanced than before. The intimate violence of the battlefield is heightened when combatants engage in chainsaw duels. Destructible environments and vicious new finishing moves add to the over-the-top experience.
Gears of War 2 are best when played with friends, and the entire campaign now features drop-in support and independent difficulty levels for two players.
