End of Scratches: Xbox 360 Back Up
All the people that has ever bought a videogame console from the original Playstation to the next generation of consoles has seen the dreaded lock up. Oh yes. That 50 dollar FPS that we had dedicated forty hours to now freezes in the middle of a vital cut scene due to minor, unintentional damage on the surface of the disc. The game is now completely unplayable and there is nothing we can do about it.
Despite their usually high price tag, consoles are not often blessed with top of the line hardware. It is not uncommon for the DVD drive itself to cause damage to the discs as the Xbox 360 often does.
Game packaging is hardly the pinnacle of safety. Pets and children often use them in ways they were never intended to be used and simple accidents can happen to the best of us regardless of how careful we may be. Because of the amount of raw data a console game disc holds even the tinyest scratch can severely hinder gameplay in the best of circumstances and render a game unplayable in the worst. Luckily, there is a solution: X360 Back Up.
Contrary to popular belief, X360 Back Up (and backing up games from any other console) is completely legal as long as we purchased the game in question. It is simply a term used to describe the creation of a copy of software we legally purchased. The point being, of course, that no matter how damaged our copy may get our original disc will be in pristine condition, assuring that our investment is safe and remains forever playable.
Making an X360 Back Up is as simple as using a very easy piece of computer software to create the copy and to make it playable on your console. A mod chip, unlike in previous iterations, is no longer needed.
