Xbox 360 dvd rom replacement...HELP?

ik ive asked this before but im gonna write this more detailed this time. Ok i have a xbox 360 without a dvd rom. The original dvd rom BURNED UP literly meaning the ICs and chips burned up so i couldnt back up the firmware. I bought off a friend another dvd rom for it. this dvd rom is different from the original and is a Model TS-H943 i need a way for my 360 to recognize it and use it. I am willing to mod the firmware or w.e. but im a newb at that stuff so i cant screw up. I either need a orginal firmware back up from someone whos willing to give it to me or help me make this drive work. I need help. idk how to flash either so help me pleeze.
