Two Reasons to Consider a Modified XBox Controller

XBox 360 is one of, if not the most popular videogame system today, and part of the reason for this is the great selection of games available, many of which let you play online against your friends.  With the extra competition of playing against human players as well as against computer players, players are starting to look for new ways to find advantages in the games.

Most people think about the game itself.  They think "I need to learn what all the best weapons and items are, and where to get them!"  Or they think "I need to learn all the best hiding places and strategies in the game."  And these are good ways to find advantages, but there is another way people are going about getting an advantage in their XBox 360 games, and that is by modifying their controllers.  In fact, there are two main modifcations that players find helpful:

Rapid Fire - Remember the old Nintendo controllers that had rapid fire built in?  Imagine if you had the same functionality in your XBox controller.  Instead of having your firing rate be limited by how fast you push the button, with an XBox controller modified to allow rapid fire, you simply have to hold down the button in order to shoot quickly!  There are a few varieties to the rapid fire modification, including adding extra buttons to engage the rapid fire setting, or having rapid fire engaged by a secret button combo so there are no extra buttons and therefore the controller is not identifiable as a modified controller if someone else examines it.

Better Control - Some people don't really like the sticks that come on the standard XBox controllers.  These can be replaced with other sticks that provide better grip and therefore better control, which can be helpful in tricky situations in the game.
