Aerosmith World Tour Xbox

Guitar hero question please help?

I bought guitar hero for xbox 360, aerosmith. I then separately bought a guitar hero guitar, for world tour with the touch pad. Its wireless and it connects and works but theres a port that opens up and a Ethernet cable DOES NOT fit in side of it, but what is it used for?

I've wondered about this a lot. Maybe it's an option to wire it?
